Library ends summer program with a splash

HUGHES SPRINGS – Children met at the Hughes Springs Area Public Library on July 27 for the final activity of the summer. Thanks to the Hughes Springs Fire Department, the summer activities ended with a splash.
Librarian Jean Austin, as she had every Thursday during June and July, gave away prizes to children in attendance. Each child was given a number when they attended each weekly event. If their number was drawn, they received a building block set in line with the library’s theme of “Build a Better World.” Children who returned with tickets from five other Thursday events were placed in a drawing for a cash prize.
