Alice K. Shaddix

HUGHES SPRINGS -- Services for Alice K. Shaddix, 92, of Hughes Springs, were held Sept. 24 at Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Burial followed at Flat Creek Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Alice Katherine Jeardoe Shaddix went to be with her Heavenly Father and Savior on Sept. 20. She was born May 16, 1925 to Albert & Laura Jeardoe, in Norway, Republic County, Kansas. Shaddix had four siblings: Hazel Rodgers, Edward Jeardoe, Edith Moxham and Dorothy Novak. She and her husband raised six kids: James Shaddix, David (Sue) Shaddix, Linda (Bobby) McDaniel, Carol (Lee Roy) Bickham, Annette (Tommy) Burson, and Mary (Larry) Trevino. Then they added the next generation of 18 Grandchildren; and 13 Great-Great Grandchildren. She has now been reunited with her husband, John Alton Shaddix; her parents; her brother Edward; sisters Hazel & Dorothy; son-in-law Bobby; granddaughter Melissa; great grandchildren Joshua and Timothy and a host of other relatives and friends.
