Council hears proposal for Lone Star Elementary building

LONE STAR – The Lone Star City Council met in their regular monthly meeting on Sept. 21. During that meeting, the council revisited a proposal from Cody Wommack involving the former Lone Star Elementary School building. At the July meeting, Wommack presented the council with plans to potentially use the former school building for a charter school.

According to the minutes from the July meeting, Womack “expressed his interest in using the Lone Star Elementary property as a charter school.” Wommack said that he was pursuing a charter from the State of Texas, and was seeking an agreement from the council for him to be able to use that property if a charter was obtained. Womack also said he would be responsible for any construction or remodeling of the property, if the charter was received.
