Singleton chosen as Grand Marshal for Daingerfield Days

DAINGERFIELD – One event that has always been a constant at Daingerfield Days has been the parade.

This year, organizers wanted to give the parade a little press of its own, so they decided to bring back the Grand Marshal. In bringing back the parade Grand Marshal, organizers wanted someone who many people in the Daingerfield area would recognize and remember.

The Grand Marshal for the 2017 Daingerfield Days parade will be former Daingerfield High School coach and administrator Gerald Singleton. Growing up in New Orleans, Singleton moved to East Texas for college, attending Texas College in Tyler. His first teaching job was in Ladonia, and he also taught in Pittsburg prior to joining the Daingerfield-Lone Star ISD.
