Tigers take “Morris County Championship” over Pewitt, 56-6

OMAHA – More than simply district rivals, the Daingerfield Tigers and Pewitt Brahmas are also inter-county rivals, as well. So when the two met on the football field, it seemed only fitting to dub the game the “Morris County Championship.” The game also served as the Tigers’ first district action for 2017 following their bye-week and a rough pre-district schedule that left them with a 1-3 record.

On what served as the “Pink-Out” night where Brahma fans came decked out in pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the two teams took the field for the coin toss, which the home town Brahmas won, then elected to defer until the second half. That was basically the only win on the night for the Brahmas, as they quickly fell behind a rested Daingerfield team who never let up.
