DAINGERFIELD -- Halfway through the season and accolades are beginning to come in for sophomore defensive end Chad Reeves. Reeves was selected as the Rockers, Riders, and Ribs Defensive Player of the Week for week seven, as well as Dave Campbell’s Texas Football “Mr. Football” player of the week.

In Daingerfield’s week seven matchup against DeKalb, Reeves’ defensive stats helped the Tigers negate DeKalb’s star running back, JaQuan Jackson. Jackson was averaging 323 yards and six touchdowns per game prior to running into Reeves and the Tiger defense. Daingerfield and Reeves held Jackson to 145 yards and one touchdown.

In the game against DeKalb, Reeves recorded 11 tackles, with four going for a loss. Reeves also was credited with a sack and two quarterback pressures against DeKalb, and picked up a fumble recovery as well.
