Holiday season kicks off in grand fashion

HUGHES SPRINGS -- The holiday season is officially underway following festivities in Hughes Springs over the past week.

The festive mood was set with the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Nov. 18. The Hughes Springs Chamber of Commerce once again placed trees around trail at Spring Creek Park. In all, 24 trees were decorated in a variety of themes. From traditional decorations and colors, to ornaments that showed the spirits of the sponsor, there truly was a tree for all.

Tree sponsors included the Chamber, Dewey Moore Ford, The Hughes Springs Clinic, On the Fritts Designs, First Baptist Church, You-Niquely Yours, HS First Baptist children’s Department, HS Majorettes and Flags, HS Elementary School, Love Chapel Youth, National Junior Honor Society, The Springs Nursing Center, the community Theatre of East Texas, Laurie skipper and Lighthouse Daycare, Judy Davis and Luanne Hopkins, HS elementary fourth graders, Mustang Baseball, First National Bank, Summers’s Gardens, Gina’s Salon, Daingerfield Flower Mill, HS Missionary Baptist Church, Terry Insurance and Real Estate, and the Red Radiance Garden Club.
