DAINGERFIELD – Visitors who braved the wet weather on Feb. 24 headed down south for a Mardi Gras celebration as the Daingerfield Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Awards Banquet at Daingerfield High School. Beads, masks, and music greeted guests as they milled around prior to the evening’s events.

Students from the Next Level Church helped serve salads, fixings, and drinks as guests prepared for their meal. As has been the norm for past banquets, the steak and baked potato meal was once again catered by the Daingerfield Fire Department. Before and during the meal, guests were able to peruse the silent auction. A variety of items, including gift sets, antique glassware, and gift certificates were available for bidding. All items were donated by area business and vendors.
