Council cancels election, discuss water distribution and grants

Daingerfield – The Daingerfield City Council met in regular session on March 12, at which time they voted to cancel the May 5 General Election.

Mayor Lou Irvin and council members Lonnie Tucker and Martha Campbell were each facing the ends of their terms. With the cancellation of the General Election due to lack of candidates, Irvin and Campbell will each remain in their positions. Jesse Ayers will fill Tucker’s seat after Tucker chose to not seek re-election.
