Area student raising funds for epilepsy awareness

DAINGERFIELD – Junior high age girls almost always dream of being cheerleaders and being actively involved in their school. Twelve year Gabrielle Reeder, a sixth grader at Daingerfield Junior High, is no different. Gabrielle, or Gaby, as she is better known, has been active in a variety of extracurricular activities.

Gabby participates in the sixth grade band, where she plays the flute, as well as gymnastics. She was chosen by her classmates to serve as a sixth grade representative on the DJH student council, and was recently named to the cheerleading squad for next school year, which will be her seventh grade year. The difference between Gabby and so many other students her age is that she does all this while dealing epilepsy
