M.O.M. Support Group
M.O.M. (Ministering Our Military) support group will have its monthly meeting on Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. at Pizza Inn in Pittsburg.  M.O.M. is a group of military family members who come together to support and minister to those who have loved ones currently in the military, serving our country.  For more information, visit our Facebook page (M.O.M. Family Day
The Annual Epps Family Day at Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Linden will be held Sunday, Oct. 27, at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Oscar Epps will be the special guest.

WatchD.O.G.S.
There will be a WatchD.O.G.S. pizza kickoff/training for dads, granddads, stepdads, uncles or friends of students at Daingerfield Junior High School. Any positive role model is invited to the junior high from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, to receive training and information about this program.

Turkey Shoot
The Avinger Area Chamber of Commerce is getting geared up for its second annual Turkey Shoot on Saturday, Nov. 9. For more details call Jeff Patterson at 903-562-1418.

Benefit Fall Festival
A benefit fall festival will be held Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Octane Coffee House, 911 Linda Drive in Daingerfield. There will be chili, pie, face painting, a silent auction, games, candy, prizes and entertainment. All proceeds go to the Patrick Elwell family for his medical expenses.

Chili Supper
The Lions Club and PEO will sponsor a chili supper Nov. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m., at South Elementary Cafeteria.

Flu Shots
Flu shots will be available at the Hughes Springs Community Building at 902 E. 1st St. in Hughes Springs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 6. You must be 18 years and older. Shots cost $25 in cash and Medicare is accepted. For further information, call 903-639-7519.

Anniversary
Williams Chapel Baptist Church will hold its 123rd church anniversary and homecoming celebration at 3 p.m. on Nov. 3. Lester Heath of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Los Angles, Calif. will be the guest speaker. For further information, call 903-380-3831 or 903-884-3737.

Dinner
The “BUDDY,” a non-profit organization, is sponsoring a fish and link plate dinner and sandwich fund-raiser on Saturday, Nov. 2, starting at 11 a.m. All proceeds go to the Brother, Uncle, Dads Developing Youth (BUDDY) organization of East Texas, a mentoring program designed to assist our youth. Fall Fest
 A fall fest will be held Nov.2 at Fellowship Baptist Church starting at 6. The Bethlehem Bluegrass Band will be the special guests. There will be food, a cakewalk and lots of fun. Everyone is welcome. Jammin’ for Jesus on Oct. 26 will be cancelled.
