Letter to the Editor: Resident proud of community

Dear Editor:
In today’s society we turn on the television, read the newspaper, and follow Internet sites and find all we ever wanted to know about what’s wrong with the world.  Negativity is a staple in society and is portrayed every day.
However, I would like to take this opportunity to brag on my community and express “What is right with our community.”
Nestled here in the Piney Woods of East Texas lies a community that is proactive in making their town a better place to live and raise a family.  Since coming home, I have been amazed at the approach our town and community strive to make Hughes Springs a better place to live.
One only has to look around and see the improvements made for the better.  With the opening of The Legacy events center, the constant improvements and building projects of the school district, the opening of our new Wildflower Motel, and the other business projects and improvements, makes me proud that we have people in our community that are moving forward and projecting what’s right and not what’s wrong.
I personally want to say I appreciate those people who lead these charges and say to you, “Keep up the good work,” people are watching.
