Theater in Linden to host legendary recording artists

The iconic and profoundly influential Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is often cited as a catalyst for an entire movement in Country Rock and American Roots Music.
NGDB has had  strings of hits such as “Mr. Bojangles,” “Fishin’ In The Dark,” and “Bless the Broken Road,” which was famously covered by Rascal Flatts.
With multi-­‐platinum and gold records, multiple Grammy, IBMA, CMA Awards and nominations, the band’s accolades continue to accumulate. Their most recent release is the critically acclaimed album “Speed of Life.”
The groundbreaking “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” album has been inducted into the U.S. Library of Congress as well as the Grammy Hall of Fame. NGDB’s recording of “Mr. Bojangles” was also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2010.
The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s lineup has remained stable throughout the years. The newest member, keyboard player and vocalist Bob Carpenter, joined the band in 1977. The rest of the band is comprised of founder Jeff Hanna on guitars and vocals, founder Jimmy Fadden on drums, harmonica and vocals and John McEuen, who replaced Jackson Browne in 1966, on fiddle, guitar, lap steel and banjo.
