Parades are planned; Santa comes to town

Tis’ the season for jolly old Saint Nick to be visiting area children, and word is he will be making several appearances in the area this year.
Avinger
The angel tree is up and full of cards at Avinger City Hall. Residents can stop by and pick up an angel and brighten someone’s Christmas. Ages on the angel tree begin at birth and continue through sixth grade.

Daingerfield
Daingerfield’s Christmas Parade, with a theme of “A Country Christmas,” will be held at 5 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 2. Lineup will be near the cemetery on Coffey Street at 4:30. There will be music at the Daingerfield City Park after the parade.
Hughes Springs
Breakfast with Santa will be held Saturday, Dec. 14, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Christian Life Center of First Baptist Church. Scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, orange juice and milk will be on the menu. A child’s ticket includes a picture with Santa, and a goody bag. Adult tickets for the breakfast are available. Tickets may be purchased at City Hall, North East Texas Credit Union and the Med Shop.
