Skaggs & Griffis

Allen and Debbie Skaggs of Hughes Springs announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter Mary Elizabeth Skaggs, also of Hughes Springs, to W. Kendall Don Griffis of Pittsburg.
The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Hughes Springs High School. In May 2011, she received her associates of science degree from Northeast Texas Community College, and in December she will receive her bachelor’s degree in education from Texas A&M Texarkana. Ms. Skaggs is employed at Trico Lumber Company in Hughes Springs. She is the granddaughter of the late Donald and Fayrene Van Huss and the late Robert and Peggy Skaggs.
The groom-elect is the son of Betsy Griffis of Pittsburg and Allan and Barbara Griffis of Mount Pleasant. He is 2007 graduate of Pittsburg High School, a merchandising execution team member at the Home Depot and a courtesy clerk at Brookshire’s. He is the grandson of Ray and Agnes Parker of Hughes Springs, Carol Griffis of Hughes Springs and the late William “Bill” Griffis.
The couple will wed on May 18 at the First Baptist Church of Hughes Springs at 5 p.m.
