Travis Tritt will play Music City Texas Jan. 25

Travis Tritt will perform at Music City Texas Theatre in Linden on Saturday night.
“I think I’m singing better than I did in my 20s and 30s” says Mr. Tritt. “I know it’s not supposed to be that way, but there’s just a control that comes with maturity.
“Since we started doing the acoustic shows, people come up to me commenting on my singing or, more often, my guitar playing.”
He shouldn’t be surprised. Nashville session musicians have known this fact for most of his 25 years on the Country Music scene.
Music critic Peter Cooper recently wrote Mr. Tritt was the “best male vocalist in Nashville, and a heck of a picker, too.”
The country singer has had five No. 1 hits on the Country Music charts including “Anymore,” “Can I Trust You with My Heart” and “Help Me Hold On.”
 “We’re billing it as a rare, solo, intimate, acoustic evening,” Mr. Tritt said. “When people leave these shows, they’ll know more about me as a person, about whom my influences are and where the songs and the music came from.”
