A truck stolen in Omaha was recovered and an arrest made; however, the sheriff’s office is still seeking information on a trailer-mounted welding machine that was also taken, according to Morris County Sheriff Jack Martin.
“On Feb. 28, Investigator Robbie Gray received a report of a stolen pickup truck and trailer-mounted welding machine that was taken from private property north of Omaha,” Sheriff Martin said. “Sgt. Gray’s investigation led to the recovery of the truck in Bowie County, and the arrest of Justin Ray Stires, 32, of Alvarado.
“Mr. Stires was charged with theft of property, more than $20,000, less than $100,000, which is a felony of the third degree and is punishable by confinement in prison for a period of two years to 10 years, and a fine of up to $10,000.”
The welding machine is a Miller brand Bobcat 225G welder, mounted to a 4’ by 8’ trailer.  Anyone with information about the location of the stolen welding machine should contact Sgt. Gray with the Morris County Sheriff’s Office at 903-645-2232.
