Receiving honors

On March 6, Region 8 ESC in Pittsburg, along with the Texas Regional Collaborative (TRC), honored Math and Science teachers across the Northeast Texas Region who served as TRC Mentor Teachers during the 2013-14 school year.  As a member of this collaborative, each teacher completed more than 100 hours of professional development in the past eight months.  The teacher honored from Avinger Independent School District was Teresa Potts from Avinger High School.  In addition to recognition from the TRC, she also received recognition from US Senator John Cornyn’s office and Texas State Senator Kevin Eltife’s office for her contributions to education.
