Texas Heritage National Bank celebrates 125th Anniversary
On May 1, 1889, nine men pooled capital and formed a bank known as ‘The Bank of Daingerfield’ with assets totaling $26,000. At that time, the town of Daingerfield, only consisted of a dozen frame houses. In 1892, the bank was issued a national bank charter and the bank’s name changed to ‘National Bank of Daingerfield.’ Over the next 100 years the bank grew to $43 million. Eventually, through acquisitions and expansions, branches were established in Omaha, Ore City and Sulphur Springs and the name was changed to Texas Heritage National Bank (THNB).
Presently, John Bryan serves as chairman of the board, Danny Bockmon serves as vice chairman and Dwyatt Bell serves as CEO/president. Today, THNB has total assets of $110 million with a diversified loan portfolio in excess of $80 million. THNB’s slogan ‘Communities Banking Together-Texas Style’ highlights the bank’s commitment to service in and around the communities in which the branches are firmly established.
