“Since last month our string of national recognitions has continued,” Northeast Texas Community College President Dr. Brad Johnson said in his report to the college board of trustees. The board met April 22 for its regular board meeting.

Dr. Johnson said there were two Jack Kent scholars at NTCC.

“It is the most generous scholarship a student can get into,” Dr. Johnson said. “It is unusual for a community college student to get any scholarship from Jack Kent, but this year we got two. They are Matthew Jordan of Pittsburg and Stephen Milburn of Mount Pleasant. There will be at least one more career-level recognition coming in the next two weeks. This has been an outstanding year. The kudos go to the faculty. Students do not get these things done if the faculty has not gone above and beyond. This is the nights and weekends work of our faculty.
