Construction under a $5.4 million bond for the Daingerfield-Lone Star Independent School District nears completion as reported to the school board at its April 21 meeting. Ted Estep, architect for the school bond, gave a construction report to the board of trustees. The construction is covered under a $5.4 million bond, a Qualified School Construction Bond, that voters approved at the polls.

“We are so close to being finished; there are just a few things left to be done,” Mr. Estep said. “We will have the accessibility inspection this week. We will have the training on the stage lighting systems. The acoustic man will be in town next week to check and see the room is tuned the way he wants it to be and that it is working properly.

“He will have a second training system to give staff and students more training. He said there are always questions. They come up with secondary questions and that gives them a chance to ask them. I suggested that they video tape the sessions.

“The design out front is ready to be etched and the landscaping is ready. We need some grass and trees and bushes.”
