Claire Burson, 14, a home school student of Avinger, competed in the District 5 4-H Roundup held at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches on April 26. She won first place, in the intermediate age group, in Educational Presentation for her speech on synesthesia. She won first place for Fashion Storyboard in the accessory category with a belt for the theme ‘Geometry Lesson.’ Claire is a member of the Jefferson Great Outdoors 4-H club in Marion County.
