Moore is Valedictorian for Hughes Springs; Connor is Salutatorian

Dylan Moore is the 2014 valedictorian of Hughes Springs High School. He plans to play baseball at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, while getting a political science degree. While in high school he participated in  various extracurricularevents, including varsity baseball and One Act Play. He has been elected to many different leadership positions, such as senior class president, and secretary of the National Honor Society. Dylan’s honors include First Team All-State Pitcher, District Pitcher of the Year, First Team All East Texas, First Team All Area and First Team MaxPreps Small School All-American. He was also nominated for All Star Cast in the District One Act Play competition. He is the son of Clint and Tina Moore.
 
Kassity DeAnna Connor is the 2014 Salutatorian of Hughes Springs High School. She plans to start her college career at Northeast Texas Community College, majoring in secondary education with a minor in history. She has participated in several extracurricular activities in and out of school including FFA, DECA, robotic, and Isshin Ryu Karate under Sensei Paula Killyon. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and the National Technical HonorSociety. Kassity advanced to DECA state for the past three years in Automotive Services Marketing. She was an active member of the FFA chapter where she held the position of reporter her sophomore and junior years. She is the daughter of Ryan and Penni Connor. 
 
Other graduates in the top 10 percent, include Anna Elizabeth Applin, daughter of Arnold and Sheila Applin, who plans to attend Northeast Texas Community College of Mount Pleasant; Jordan Sierra DeBord, daughter of Lisa DeBord, who plans to attend University of Mobile in Alabama; Brady Paul Edmiston, son of Mike and Sheila Edmiston who plans to attend Texas A & M-College Station; Jessica Elizabeth- Marie Modisette, great-granddaughter of Ray and Gwen Walsh, who plans to attend Tarleton State University in Stephenville; and Michelle Tryanna Terry, daughter of Danny Terry and Yolanda Stanton, who plans to attend Texas A & M-Texarkana. 
 
The Hughes Springs seniors will walk the stage at Mustang Stadium on May 30 at 7:30 p.m.
