Services for Avanell Blackmon Nobles, 88 of Daingerfield will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the First Baptist Church in Daingerfield with Don Ross officiating. Burial will be in the Ashland Cemetery in Diana, under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Avanell was born Aug. 23, 1925, in Dallas and died May 27, in Daingerfield.
Avanell graduated from Daingerfield High School in 1942 and received her BA from East Texas Baptist College. She also attended Baylor University. She was a first grade teacher in Springfield, Va., Daingerfield and Diana.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Daingerfield. She was a former member of First Baptist Church Springfield, Va., Houston, Midland and Longview. Avanell was a Sunday school teacher for many years where she enjoyed teaching children. She loved all phases of nature, art and music.
Avanell was preceded in death by her husband Doug Nobles; son Randy Nobles; and brother, Tom Blackmon.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Ginger Nobles of Wilmington, Delaware; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Walter Bass of Daingerfield; daughters-in-law, Diana Nobles and Mindy Nobles; grandchildren, Pat Nobles and fiancé Vanessa of Atlantic Beach, Fla., Sam Nobles of Wilmington, Delaware, Walt and Meredith Bass of Katy, Preston and Ashley Bass of Sachse, Tucker Bass of Daingerfield, John Nobles of Dallas, David and Jessica Nobles of Bethel, Conn. and Andrew Nobles of Austin. Great grandchildren, Eloise, Emerson and Avanell Bass all of Katy, Presley and Aubrey of Bass of Sachse, Jack and Paige Nobles of Bethel, Conn.
