Barnard achieves several wins in track

Hughes Springs Lady Mustang Alisha Barnard achieved many wins in track this past season, according to Coach Cory Pate.
Barnard received first place in all the regular season track meets in the 1,600 and 3,200 meter run. She also placed first in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 13:28 at the District track meet held in New Boston. She received first place in the 1,600 at the District meet with a time of 6:07.
At the Area Meet held in Tatum, Barnard placed first in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 12:49 and placed second in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:55. She advanced to the Regional Meet held at Whitehouse.
Barnard placed fifth in the 3,200-meter run on May 23 with a time of 13:04. She ran the 1,600-meter run and placed seventh with a time of 6:04. She also received the Lady Mustang Track Award for 2014 at the Athletic Banquet held on May 19.
