Two Mount Pleasant men were arrested after a search warrant was executed in Daingerfield, according to Morris County Sheriff Jack Martin.

“The United States Postal Service, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Daingerfield Police Department executed a search warrant at a dwelling on Kathryn Street in Daingerfield on June 4,” Sheriff Martin said. “I had been contacted by a postal inspector with the United States Postal Service in reference to the trafficking of narcotics through the Postal Service, which had been mailed to 107 Kathryn St. in Daingerfield. The postal inspector advised me that the package contained approximately 1 pound of methamphetamine. I then contacted the Daingerfield Police Department and investigators with the Texas Department of Public Safety, and assisted the Postal Inspector in obtaining a search warrant from a district judge. A carefully planned and coordinated course of action was put into place to control the package, and, after it was delivered, the search warrant was immediately executed.

“Officers arrested Miechael Houston, 25, of Mount Pleasant, who was at the location on Kathryn Street waiting on the package. A small amount of marijuana was also seized from Mr. Houston at the time of his arrest. A continued investigation by the above agencies led to the arrest that same day of Jonathan Wilson, 34, of Mount Pleasant, and another suspect in the State of California. Both Mr. Houston and Mr. Wilson remain in the Morris County Jail on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group One, more than 400 grams, which is a felony of the first degree and is punishable by a prison term of 10 to 99 years, or a life sentence, and a fine not to exceed $100,000. Mr. Houston has an additional charge of misdemeanor possession of marijuana.”
