Poole pleads guilty to driving while intoxicated

Shannon Michele Poole, 52, of Avinger, pled guilty June 27, in the 115th Judicial District Court in Upshur County to driving while intoxicated with subsequent offense, a third degree felony, according to Upshur County District Attorney Billy W. Byrd. 
 
Ms. Poole was assessed 10 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice – Institutional Division probated for five years. Ms. Pool was assessed court costs, a $50 Crimestopper’s fee, a $1,500 fine, a $140 Department of Public Safety drug fee, a $60 Department of Public Safety blood fee and attorney’s fees. Ms. Poole was further ordered to complete 400 community work service hours, attend DWI repeat offender school, attend the Victim Impact Panel, install an ignition interlock device for one half of the probation period and attend drug offender and life skills classes. 
 
Ms. Poole also received a driver’s license suspension for one year. Tim Cone of Gilmer was the attorney for the defendant.
