Movies in the Park
“Zoo Keeper” will be shown Friday, July 25, and “Back to the Future” on Saturday, July 26, at Spring Park next to the city hall offices in Hughes Springs.
 
Paddling Texas Trails 
One of the fastest growing segments of outdoor recreation in Texas is ‘Keep Cool Padding Texas.’ Finding a place to put in or take out a kayak or canoe is a lot easier since Texas Parks and Wildlife has added several new paddling trails so folks can stay cool this summer and see nature up close. PhyNet Open Houses
PhyNet will host an open house at its Hughes Springs and Linden Clinics. In Hughes Springs at 201 E. 2nd Street the event will be held July 31 at 4 p.m.
 
Blood Drive
Morris County Sheriff Jack Martin is hosting a blood drive, conducted by the Lifeshare Blood Center of Texarkana. This blood drive will be a competition between the Morris County Sheriff’s office and Daingerfield Fire and Rescue. Each donor will be asked which department they are donating for, and the department with the most donors wins. The Blood Drive will be held at the Morris County Annex Building on Monday, July 28, from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. For further information, call Deputy Ross Dickson at 903- 645-2232.
