Book Study
Ladies 18-49 are studying from Stormie Omartian’s book “The Power of a Praying Woman” Sundays at 9:45 a.m. The ladies meet at Mt. Mitchell Church of Christ, 6238 FM 144 North.
 
Basketball Tournament
The Black Community Scholarship Basketball Tournament fund-raiser will be held March 22 and 23 at the Daingerfield High School gym. All teams interested in helping or playing, contact Margine Mims at 903-645-4693
 
New Hours
The office of Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace and municipal judge for the city of Hughes Springs Gina Bassham changed hours effective Feb. 25. The office will be closed on Mondays, and open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. including lunch hour Tuesday through Friday.

Book Club
The Noon Book Lovers Club will be meet Thursday at the Daingerfield Public Library.  For more information call the library at 903-645-2823.

Easter Egg Hunt
The Daingerfield Chamber of Commerce will host its Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30, at the Daingerfield State Park beginning at 10 a.m.

GED Classes
The Adult Education Department at Northeast Texas Community College will offer free General Education Development (GED) classes at the West Elementary Cafeteria in Daingerfield. Students interested in attending classes must enroll in a 12-hour orientation. Regular classes begin on April 2. Call 903-434-8252 for more information.

Pageant
Little Miss Wildflower Trails Pageant begins 10 a.m. March 30 at Linden-Kildare High School for ages 0 to 12 years old. Entry deadline is Friday, March 22. For entry form and fee info contact Jamie O’Rand-Stone at 903-756-5041 or 903-756-5577 or email orandstone@hotmail.com.

Bake Sale
The Unity Baptist District Association Youth Department will sponsor a pre-Easter bake sale at the Wal-Mart in Atlanta on Saturday beginning at 7:15 a.m. For further information, contact youth director Theresa Roquemore or Rv. W.R. Collins.

Afterschool
Daingerfield Afterschool Centers on Education, ACE, offers bus transportation on Monday and Tuesday only.  All ACE students will be parent pick-up on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
April 22, will be the last day for ACE bus transportation. All ACE students will be parent pick up until the last day of ACE on May 23. If you have any questions or concerns, contact the site coordinator, Shanta Lockett, at the junior high campus.
