Meet the Tigers
Meet The Tigers will be held Friday, Aug. 15, at Mickey Mayne Stadium. Hot dogs will be served at 5:15 p.m. with the program beginning at 6. Come and support Daingerfield athletes and students.
 
Music City Texas 
Music City Texas Theater presents Hickory Hill Bluegrass on Aug. 16; and Earl Thomas Conley on Aug. 30. For tickets, call 903-756-9934 Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The theater is located at 108 Legion St. in Linden. Check the web site at www. musicitytexas.org.
 
Mustang Stampede
The annual Mustang Stampede will be held Saturday, Aug. 16, from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Hughes Springs Spring Park. There will be water slides and a bounce house for younger children. Armbands are $20. Concessions will be available, along with music and entertainment. “Redeemed” will sing from 5 to 6 p.m. At 6 p.m., the organizations and athletes will be introduced.
 
M.O.M.
M.O.M. (Ministering Our Military) Support group will have its monthly meeting on Aug. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at Abraham’s at 230 N. Main in Lone Star. M.O.M. is a group of military family members who come together to support and minister to those who have loved ones currently in the military, serving our country. For more information, visit Facebook page (M.O.M. Meet the Teacher
Meet the Teacher Night in local schools will be Aug. 21. In Avinger, Meet the Teacher will be from 6 to 7 p.m. In Daingerfield it will be held at West Elementary School from 4 to 5:30 p.m., South Elementary School is 4:30 to 6 p.m., and sixth grade junior high is 5 to 6:30 p.m. At Hughes Springs Elementary, Meet the Teacher will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. At the junior high, the Colt Camp will be held on Aug. 19 from 1 to 5 p.m.
 
Historical Commission 
Cass County Historical Commission will meet at noon Aug. 16, in the Atlanta Public Library. There will be a presentation about the Blue Star Veterans Memorial located on Highway 155 west of Linden. The memorial has been in need of attention for several years a group is seeking volunteers to maintain the site. The public is welcomed to attend this meeting. Movies in the Park
“Heaven is Real” will be shown Friday, Aug. 22, with “Soul Surfer” shown on Saturday, Aug. 23, at Spring Park next to the city hall offices in Hughes Springs. 
 
Back-to-School Youth Rally
“Rekindle the Fire,” a back-to-school youth rally will be held Friday, Aug. 15, at 7:30 p.m. at The Next Level, 165 Highway 259 south in Daingerfield. Special guest speaker will be the Rev. Rodney Burks, along with the Cleburne UPC Youth Choir. There will be basketball and volleyball tournaments, along with a free chicken spaghetti dinner after the service.
