Graveside services for Virginia Lynn Ginger Morris Johnson, 51, of Krum, will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Old Town Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in Haynesville, La. Visitation will be at 2 p.m., followed by her service at 3.
Mrs. Morris was born Feb. 7, 1963, in Marshall to Harold and Ann Morris of Haynesville, La. and formerly of Hughes Springs, and died Aug. 23.
Ginger graduated from Hughes Springs High School in 1981 and attended Texarkana Community College where she graduated with a degree in vocational nursing. Throughout her career, she touched the lives of many people while working in the Dallas area as an LVN. She was a kind, caring, forgiving person and was an exceptional nurse who brought care and comfort to everyone she met. She was a true friend, and a loving mother, a special daughter and a wonderful sister.
She was a talented musician, an incredible cook, a people-person who also loved pets and enjoyed fishing. She was known to her family and closest friends as comically sarcastic, highly intelligent, and could wittily take the upper hand in any conversation.
In 1979 she was crowned Junior Miss Hughes Springs and in 1981 she was crowned Miss Marion Cass Soil & Water Conservation Queen. Ginger was a beautiful person in appearance and had an equally beautiful spirit.
Ginger was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs and a member of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls where she held the office of Worthy Advisor.
She will be missed by many.
