The Daingerfield City Council met on Oct. 13, where the council approved the advertising of the city manager positon, as well as accept the resignation of former City Manager Carl Teel. Teel resigned Sept. 16 due to family responsibilities.
The council also decided to table hiring an interim city manager until the next meeting on Nov. 10.
After council deliberation and approval, the council also decided to move the current animal shelter to an acre of land the city purchased over a year ago, with the idea of eventually moving the shelter, which is located on the east side of the water treatment plant.
