You've probably seen his big dimpled smile as he helps customers at Bailey's in Daingerfield. He's a humble man that says he's been nothing but blessed.
Shane White, a local citizen of Daingerfield, received news from his cousin, Sam White,  of Dumas, Texas that he wanted to donate one of his kidneys for Shane.
The two recently discovered they are a match for the transplant, and Shane awaits a date for the actual transplant to take place.
Shane has been on dialysis for seven years after his kidney's failed, which doctors attributed to high blood pressure.
"It's one of those things you have to keep on with," Shane said, "you don't have a choice. I wasn't looking at the time to do a transplant from a cadaver donor. I was biding my time. Until one day my aunt called me and told me her son would be happy to give me a kidney. So I waited for him to call and tell me, and one day he did. We happen to be the only two that we know of in our family with the same blood type."
After some physicals and a few classes, doctors will be able to set the date for the transplant.
After the transplant, Shane will have to stay in Dallas for two months so doctors can monitor him.
An account has been set up under Donald White at Northeast Texas Credit Union in Daingerfield. Anyone who would like to donate to aide in the costs of the transplant and living expenses for the months that follow, may do so.
