Cason First Baptist Church Food Pantry is gearing up for 200 Thanksgiving meal boxes that will be distributed to families in need.
Director Anna Brumbelow says that the boxes will be distributed on Nov. 16 after afternoon church services.
Brumbelow says the pantry could use more cornbread mix, eggs and sweet potatoes for the boxes, which can be donated from the public.
The pantry serves all of the surrounding counties and opens it's doors every second Tuesday of each month, where they distribute roughly 400 boxes of food to families in need.
In order to receive a box, people must be able to show a valid identification card, along with a utility bill and a some sort of household income if possible.
"We don't feel like we should turn anyone down because they live in a different county," Brumbelow said.
A total of 600 boxes will be given this month, due to the 400 regular pantry boxes that were given this week on Tuesday and the 200 Thanksgiving boxes that are planned for this month.
