Daingerfield will kick off the Christmas season with a parade and concert in the park Dec. 9. The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. Lineup will be at 4:30 p.m. and judging will start at 5 p.m. Chamber Manager Sheri Kramer says people can bring their cameras to take pictures with Santa after the parade, and listen to holiday music in the park. "If you have a chorus group or musical band that would like to participate in the concert," Kramer said, "please contact the chamber office."  A food and beverage concession will also be available. Entry forms for the parade can be found on the Daingerfield Chamber of Commerce's website daingerfieldchamberofcommerce@cebridge.net or by calling the chamber office at 903.645.2646. Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place floats. The Daingerfield Chamber of Commerce will also be sponsoring a Christmas lighting contest within the Daingerfield city limits. Categories will include best door, best home, best business and best area. Trophies for this contest will be awarded. For questions contact the chamber.
The Friends of the Daingerfield Public Library will also be putting out some Christmas cheer, as Breakfast with Rudolph is slated for Dec. 6 at the library from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Children will visit with Rudolph and enjoy a light breakfast. Don't forget to bring a camera to take photographs of your children with Rudolph.
