In a board meeting held Dec. 8, the Hughes Springs Independent Board of Trustees met to  approve the appointment of an interim trustee until May 2015 to fill a vacancy that was left after the death of Board President, John Willis.
Vice President Bill Lindsey will now be the president of the board. Van Hall was also elected to take the position of vice president after Mr. Lindsey was moved up to president.
The board also approved the appointing of Robyn Shelton to fill the vacancy on the board that was created. Shelton will be sworn in at the board's January 2015 meeting.

The district will release more information on the college academy as it develops.
