Dobbs
David Lee Dobbs, 70, of Daingerfield, joined our Lord on Jan. 29, in Tyler. He was born Nov. 3, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas to John B. and Hazel (Utt) Dobbs. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald and Duane Dobbs; and sister, Dorothy Clingingsmith. He was a graduate of McCloud High School in California, New York Institute of Photography and Liberty University Institution of Biblical Studies. There was not anything he set his mind to that he didn’t do. He worked as an electrician, professional drummer, a mechanic and service manager at Holms Pontiac and Mercedes Benz in Shreveport, La. His most prized job was working at Hughes Springs Elementary School. He was a Scout Master for Troop 66 in Hughes Springs. These boys have always held a special place in his heart. On Nov. 6, 1970 he married the love of his life Margaret Hopkins. He is survived by his wife; four children, Brian and Tosha Dobbs of Ponchatoula, La., Tami Dobbs, John Dobbs, and Cassie and Jason Rhyne, all of Daingerfield; eight grandchildren, David Dobbs, Shonn Dobbs, Callie Dobbs, Thomas Green, Trisha Dobbs, Bradley Rhyne, Kolby Green, and MaiCee Rhyne. He was a faithful member of South Union Missionary Baptist Church. He was able to do what he loved by running the sound board. He made his home there and loved his church family.Funeral services for Mr. Dobbs were Jan. 31, at South Union Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Thompson officiating. Burial followed at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.
Cole
Funeral services for Billie Ruth Cole, 89, of Ore City were held Jan. 27, at Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Diana. Burial followed at Ore City Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. Mrs. Cole was born Aug. 2, 1925 in Brushy Creek. She passed away, Jan. 26, in Longview.
Washington
James Raymond Washington,75, of Linden passed away, Jan. 27.. Mr. Washington was born June 9, 1939 in Centerhill. Services were Jan. 29, at PineCrest Baptist Church with Bro. Jason McNutt and Bro.Virgil Ragland officiating. Burial followed at Kildare Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden. Tigert Funeral services for Esther Rhae Lile Tigert, 88 of Lone Star were held Jan. 30, at South Union Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Thompson officiating. Burial was in the Clark Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home. Mrs. Tigert was born on Oct. 21, 1926 in Jenkins and died on Jan. 28, in Mount Pleasant. Whetstone Bobby Joe “Bug” Whetstone Jr. was born April 14, 1971 in Mount Pleasant. He departed this life Jan. 19. Funeral services were Jan. 31, at First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs. Burial followed at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.
Pearson
Funeral services for Mary Ella Pearson, 95, of Ore City were held Jan. 31, at Cedar Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Osborne and Bro Glenn Dunaway officiating. Burial was in the Bradfield Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home. Mrs. Pearson was born on Oct. 13, 1919 to Andrew and Lela Newsom Jordan. She was a member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church and worked as an aide at Ore City Independent School District. Survived by her son and daughterin- law, Jr. and Rosie Pearson of Ore City; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Andrew Daniel of Kilgore; daughter- in-law Georgia Pearson of Houston; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends. Graveside services for Wayne Frank Beyer TSFT USAF were Jan. 31, at Daingerfield Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mr. Beyer was born March 12, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Ogden
Funeral services for Mildred Ogden, 77 of Hughes Springs, were Feb. 1, at Reeder-Davis Chapel, with Bro. Larry Neely officiating. Interment followed at Hughes Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder- Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mrs. Ogden was born Jan. 2, 1938 in Woodlawn, and passed away Jan. 29, in Mount Pleasant.
Sharp
Lynette Surratt Sharp, 71, of Linden passed away, Friday, Jan. 30. Ms. Sharp was born March 18, 1943 in Linden. Services were Feb. 3, at Bear Creek Baptist Church.
