Three arrested on drug charges

Three area men were arrested in Morris County March 24 for possession of controlled substance charges, according to Morris County Sheriff Jack Martin.
“Deputy Hershel Stroman was patrolling in the area of County Road 2115 when he observed a maroon Ford Expedition’s driver commit a minor traffic violation,” Sheriff Martin said. “Deputy Stroman conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Steven Andrew Hendrickson, 27, of Hughes Springs, and the passenger as Bryan Ross Scarborough, 32, of Daingerfield.
“Deputy Stroman obtained consent to search the vehicle and located suspected methamphetamines. Both men were placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group One, more than 1 gram, less than 4 grams. The possession charge is a felony of the third degree, punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000.”
A third arrest was made that day.
“Later that day Deputy Ross Dickson obtained information about narcotics activity at a residence in Omaha,” Sheriff Martin said. “Deputy Dickson obtained a search warrant for the property. Deputy Dickson and Deputy Ken Thomas, assisted by Naples Police Officer Brandon Nance, executed the search warrant. Suspected methamphetamines were located inside the residence.
“Brian Craig Perkins, 35, was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group One, less than 1 gram, which is a State Jail felony, punishable by up to two years confinement in a State Jail facility and a fine of up to $10,000.”
