Students win honors in One Act Play competition

Hughes Springs High School One-Act Play is advancing to Area competition which will be held at Van High School.  The students have advanced out of Zone and District competitions with six individual medals at Zone and five at District. 
Caitlin Moreland won All-Star Cast and Honorable Mention All-Star Cast and Laura Stewart won two All-Star Cast medals.
Haylee Wommack and Breanne Gunn both received Honorable Mention All-Star Cast.
BJ Fickling captured Honorable Mention All-Star Cast and All-Star Cast honors, while Dylan Tippett won Best Actor at Zone. Uryia Kemp won the Outstanding Tech Award at Zone, while Nicole Willis won Outstanding Tech Award at District. Sabranna Sloan and Luis Dorantes participated.
Students are advancing to the University Interscholastic League Regional Competition April 20.
Caitlin Moreland captured first place in  prose interpretation; Levi Hawkins captured second place in poetry interpretation; Savannah Wright placed in editorial writing and alternate headline writing; Chase Cooper took second place in computer science and L-D debate; and Lake Skipper placed in computer science.
