Hometown Person
Full name: Carla Annette Hill.
I have lived in: I’ve always lived local except for the time John moved us to Illinois with a job; I absolutely hated it. I lasted about four months and had to move back home. You can take the girl out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the girl.
Family: Hubby John, son Michael, his wife Jennifer, their son Tyler, son Brandon, his wife Casey, their kids Brailei and Kenzie, daughter Britney, her husband Chris, their kids Shaun and Emma, son Hayden.
Occupation: I am a wedding coordinator at Jeanie’s Weddings and More.
One of the best things about my job is: Working with my crazy Aunt Jeanie. We have a blast together.
My ideal vacation is: Gathering all my family, head to Galveston, rent a house boat for about two weeks and just lay out, fish, swim and chill with the family.
My hero is: My grandmother Helen Stewart. She taught us from little kids to fear God and to love one another. She is not only grandmother to our family but to everyone that meets her, she is so sweet and loving. When people hear Mrs. Stewart they know who you’re talking about.
A cause I most believe in is: I have a soft spot for the elderly so I would have to say making sure they are taken care of and treated right in their golden years.
If I could change one thing about East Texas, it would be: The dadgum pollen and mold spores in the air, keeps my allergies flared up.
The person who has influenced my life most is: My Aunt Jeanie. We grew up together and in our adult life she has been there for me when I couldn’t talk to anyone else. She has prayed for me and my family and hasn’t judged me for past mistakes. The fact that she is a pastor’s wife doesn’t stop her from having a good time and acting goofy. We have had so many belly busting laughs together. She has been a great and fun influence on my life.
The scariest thing that ever happened to me was: Getting bit by a brown recluse spider.
If I had to do it all over again, I’d: Make wiser decisions.
If I won a trip to anywhere, I would go to: I’ve always wanted to go on a cruise, but seeing that Carnival Cruise on the news lately is kind of scary. That would be my luck, and I have watched Titanic way too much to vacation on the water.
I would have liked to participate in the historical event of: I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when our guys busted up into Bin Ladens compound in Pakistan; man just to see the look on his face would have been priceless.
Two words that describe me are: Fun and crazy.
Included on my bucket list are: Riding the big rides at Six Flags and I would love to travel and see parts of the world that we only see on TV.
I wish I had the courage to: Go out of the house without fixing my hair and putting on makeup.
