The week after spring break was almost as gloomy on the diamond for the Daingerfield Lady Tigers as the previous week had been due to the weather.

On Monday, March 14, the tigers took on the Lady Mustangs from neighboring Hughes Springs. In the junior varsity game, Daingerfield fell, 4 to 9 to the Mustangs. Hope Driggers had a double, with two runs batted in and one run scored. Claire Smith scored two runs for the Tigers. Pearl Perry had a double with two runs batted in and two runs scored for the Lady Mustangs. Zaida Lanier was the winning pitcher for the Mustangs, while Makayla Robinson took the loss for the Tigers. The Tigers committed two errors in the game.

The Varsity squads took the field following the JV game, and the error bug stayed in the Tigers dugout. Daingerfield committed six errors in four innings, and could only muster one hit as they were shutout by Zoe Lanier. Camryn Byrd took the loss for the Tigers, putting up four strikeouts, and four walks to go along with five Mustang hits.

On March 15, the Lady Tigers welcomed the Lady Bulldogs from Queen City. Again, the Lady Tigers were plagued by the error bug, committing seven on the night. Byrd picked up the loss for the Tigers, pitching five and a third innings. Nekoda Coleman and Baylee Welch went yard for the Tigers, and Coleman added four runs batted in in the loss.

On Friday, March 18, the Tigers traveled to Linden- Kildare, for a district tilt with another Tiger team. The Daingerfield squad put up 13 runs in the top of the first inning, on their way to a 26-8 win. Camryn Byrd picked up the win for Daingerfield, with five innings pitched, three hits, and one earned run. Byrd walked one and struck out two in the game.

Byrd helped herself at the plate, as well, going four for four with four runs scored and seven runs batted in. Alexis Porter added four runs and three hits in five at bats, and three runs batted in. Ashlyn Fomby had two hits in five at bats, and two runs batted in for Daingerfield.

Daingerfield will face The Pewitt Brahmas at home on Tuesday, March 22. They will then travel to Chapel Hill to face the Lady Red Devils on March 24.
