McCoy
Services for Pansy McCoy, 79 of Hughes Springs, were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 25, at Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Burial followed at Union Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mrs. McCoy was born on Dec. 28, 1936 and went to be with Jesus on April 23.
She was a member of Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church, and also owned and operated the Fashion Carousel in Daingerfield for over 20 years. She loved her work, helping people and her loyal customers.
Mrs. McCoy was preceded in death by her parents, James Harrison and Emma Armstrong; loving husband, Melvin McCoy; brothers and sisters: Andrew Armstrong, J.C. Armstrong, Carolyn Gassett, James Armstrong, Jr., Della Yates, Olin Armstrong, Monroe Armstrong, Mozelle Pyland, and Wayne Armstrong.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law: Doctor James Weldon Hampton and wife, Cindy of Oxford, NC, and Doctor Michael Anthony Hampton and wife, Sharon of Hughes Springs; step-daughter, Linda Sims and husband, Gary; Sister, Mary Nix and husband, H.R.; grandchildren: Darcy Drake and husband, Alex, Austin Hampton, Travis Hampton, Sam Hampton, Jenna Hampton, Jarrod Hampton and wife Britiney, Dana Hampton; great-grandchildren: Annie Drake, and Vivie Drake; two very special nieces: Julia Wolfswinkel and Becky Erdek; many other loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association.
