Hughes Springs students advance to State UIL meet

HSHS Academic UIL competed at the Regional meet in Tyler on April 23. Levi Hawkins placed 2nd in Poetry and Carson Moreland placed 2nd in Prose- both are advancing to the state competition in Austin on May 24th. Cypress Wright placed 7th overall at Regionals in Number Sense out of 42 people and in 7th Math out of 44 people. Chandler Priddy placed 7th overall in Current Events out of 43 people. Cody Williams went 3-0 in his first 3 rounds of Debate, Cody & Ben Denny both advanced to quarter finals. UIL Academics has had an exceptional year and we are so proud of all of the hard work that all of our competitors put in this year.
