It’s time for the apology tours to end

A Patriot's Opinion

By Jim Snyder

Why is it that this president seems to hate this country so much that he constantly thinks he has to apologize for our actions? The past 8 years have been one giant apology tour. Everywhere he goes, he has this uncontrolled urge to tell other countries how bad he thinks we have been.

American exceptionalism is somehow a negative thing in his mind. There were concerns recently that during his visit to Japan, Mr. Obama would once again apologize, this time for the United States dropping the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. While he didn’t utter the words many veterans and lawmakers said that the mere act of him going there was a veiled apology. When we dropped the Atomic bomb on Hiroshima, it was done to end a war that would have likely lasted another year or so. So in reality, dropping that bomb actually saved thousands of American lives. Of course, Mr. Obama doesn’t see it that way.

His idea of America is of a country that has taken advantage of the rest of the world. He thinks we are mean and hateful people who deserve to be somehow punished for being the greatest nation on earth. Our economic system of capitalism has spurred innovation and growth for over 150 years. We have accomplished many great things. I for one am not ashamed of our greatness. I say we should always celebrate our successes. We have helped more people than any country on the face of this earth. We have provided more support both financially and humanitarian wise than anyone else in history. That is something that we should be proud of. But to listen to Mr. Obama speak, you would think we were the modern day version of Nazi Germany.

America has led the world for over 100 years in technology that has made all of our lives better. We have cured diseases and have made giant leaps in medical treatments and techniques that have benefited millions of people worldwide. We “had” the world’s number one economy for a century. That is, until this president allowed China to pass us due to his ridiculous economic policies. We used to have a space program that was the envy of the world. That is, until this president converted NASA into a Muslim outreach facility.

But I do think president Obama should be required to apologize to one more group before he leaves office, Middle class Americans. He should apologize for the harm he has done to the U.S. economy. He should apologize for adding ten trillion dollars to the national debt. He should apologize for the lies and the fraud he used to pass Obamacare. Premiums have skyrocketed every year since. Have you forgotten he took $700 billion dollars of our Medicare funds to pay for it?

He should apologize for sicking the IRS on conservative groups. He should apologize to Veterans for taking $2.5 billion dollars from them in order to finance bringing the Syrian refugees here. He should apologize to our police officers for all the times he scolded them for doing their job. He should apologize for 46 million people being on food stamps, and 94 million people being out of work. He should apologize for the fact that more businesses are closing everyday than are opening. Who can forget his famous “You didn’t build that” comment?

Let me be crystal clear. We have nothing to apologize or be ashamed of. Like it or not Mr. President this “is” the greatest nation on earth. We used to be proud of that fact but now we are supposed to say we’re sorry for being so great, I don’t think so. So I will continue to pound the drum of American exceptionalism for as long as I am taking in breath.
