In case you were wondering, this is why I do what I do

Ever since I started this column almost two years ago I have had hundreds of compliments from readers. Most are just simple things like, “I really enjoy reading your articles” or “You talk about the things that we are thinking”. But every now and then I get one or two people who seem to have a problem with something I wrote. Most of the time its something like “why are you always bashing democrats” or they simply don’t agree with some fact or figure I posted. Well in honor of all of the people who compliment or complain, the following words are my response. In other words, This is why I do what I do.

First off the title of this column (A Patriots Opinion) should give most people an idea of what would be written here. I am a Patriot. A quick search on Bing produces the following definition. A Patriot: “a person who loves, supports, and defends his or her country with devotion”, and “A person who regards him or herself as a defender especially of individual rights and against presumed interference by the federal government”. Now ladies and gentlemen it doesn’t get much clearer than that.

For the past 40 years I have gradually watched the country that I love and served being taken down a path that disturbs me greatly. I have watched our constitution gradually taken apart by liberal politicians and the supreme court who only want to use the parts that benefit their agenda. I have watched as prayer and religion have been taken out of our schools and courthouses. Years ago being a Christian was considered to be an honorary trait. Now Christians not just here but worldwide are being persecuted for their beliefs and called Xenophobic because we refuse to bow down to a religion of hate that is determined to destroy us. And our government is complicit in this effort. The concerns of our enemy are given preference to our beliefs and our safety.

I have watched our military being systematically dismantled by politicians who have never served their country yet think they know what is best. Our national debt has skyrocketed out of control. The current president made the comment back in 2008 that it was unpatriotic and unAmerican because president Bush added $5 trillion dollars to the national debt. But Mr. Obama has added $9 trillion dollars to that debt and he sees no problem with that. Yet the solution being presented by the powers that be is to tax and spend even more. Our healthcare system is being destroyed due to a terrible mistake called Obamacare. Our workforce is being devastated by layoffs due to too much government intervention. With our Oil & Gas technology we have the capabilities to be 100% energy independent from every other country. But the government restricts our own people from achieving that goal due to their incompetence and selfish interests.

During every democrat administration in the last 30 years our 2nd amendment rights have been attacked. And now we have another self appointed dictator wanting to ascend to the throne and continue destroying our right to protect our families.

If you haven’t figured it out by now you’re darn right I’m angry. I am tired of watching the destruction of a great nation due to the arrogance of leaders who have no clue as to what they are doing. So my contribution to the cause is simple. I will continue to write articles supporting what I believe is right.

I will talk to as many people as I can reach, and try and educate people as to what is going on. And hopefully reach enough people in time before this whole thing goes down the proverbial drain. Speaking the truth is a tough business but it is critical if we are to save what is left of our society. Despite what you are told we are very close to losing this great republic. So I will fight to the end to stop it no matter what it takes. And to anyone else who considers themselves a patriot I encourage you to do the same.
