Who is Julian Assange, and why should we care?

Many Americans may not even know who Julian Assange is or don’t really care. But for those of us that do care, Julian Assange is a hero of sorts.

Julian Assange is the founder of WikiLeaks. WikiLeaks is an international non-profit journalistic organization that publishes secret information, news leaks, and classified information from anonymous sources. Many high profile news stories have been generated by WikiLeaks release of these materials. Many of you may still be asking yourself “why should we care?” Well I will tell you why.

Julian Assange along with others like Edward Snowden (the man who stole the NSA files) are responsible for the American people learning about things that the mainstream media should be reporting on. But the mainstream media in this country has become so partisan in the past two decades that they no longer do anything even approaching journalism. We are talking about the major news sources in this country, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, and many more. They no longer report the news or do any investigative journalism. These news outlets are nothing more than lapdogs for the administration. They are fed the stories that they want us to hear, or they simply put their liberal slant on every story to make it fit their narrative. They never go after anyone who is “on their side,“ but only people they disagree with. When the media has it out for a certain person or group, they do what is known as “hit pieces” on them, using lies and half-truths to create their story.

This is where people like Julian Assange come in. They get the facts from anonymous hackers and computer people and leak the information to the public. A lot of the time, that is the only way we would ever learn about what is going on right under our noses. The Edward Snowden case is another classic example. If not for Mr. Snowden taking those NSA documents and fleeing to another country, it would have taken years for us to learn about the government spying on our phone calls. The president and his minions have called Edward Snowden a traitor. I disagree. He leaked material to us showing us how the government was going behind our backs and lying about their activities. That is why I say people like Mr. Assange and Mr. Snowden are heroes. While the media and our own government lie and hide everything from us, these people dig up the facts and get them to us. That is really the only way a lot of this info would ever see the light of day.

Right now Julian Assange is the one of the only people who is exposing Hillary Clinton’s scandals to us. The media is doing their level best to cover her tracks at every turn. And they aren’t even trying to hide it anymore. Several weeks ago I heard an ABC reporter make the following comment. He said on a live broadcast that their network was doing everything they could to get her elected. Folks, it doesn’t get any clearer than that as to where their loyalties are. These are people who are supposed to be objective and non-biased in their reporting. Yeah right, that’s not gonna happen. The media is in the tank for Hillary Clinton and they will do everything in their power to cover up any bad news or stories out there to protect their favorite candidate.

I say thank God for people like Julian Assange and groups like Judicial Watch who are doing the job that the media should be doing. So next time you hear a hit piece about Mr. Assange being called a hacker or as traitor, don’t fall for it. He is simply doing the job that our mainstream media should be doing every day.
