October 15 Chicken Spaghetti Lunch
The Rocky Branch Fire Department will be having a Chicken Spaghetti Lunch on Oct. 15. They will begin serving at 11 a.m., and carry-outs will be available. For more information, contact Tony Thigpen at 903-897- 5173.
October 15 Haunted Mansion Ball
The Community Theatre of East Texas will be hosting a Haunted Mansion Ball at the Theatre on First Street in Hughes Springs. There will be a costume contest, live entertainment, food, and fun. See the Community Theatre of East Texas’ Facebook page for more information. No clown costumes, please!
October 18, 25 Preschool Story Time
Preschool story time continues at the Hughes Springs Area Public Library, and happens every Tuesday morning at 10:15 a.m. This FREE story time lasts about 45 minutes, and is open to all preschoolers age 3 and older.
October 22 Fall Festival
Veal Switch Baptist Church in Hughes Springs invites everyone to their Fall Festival on Oct. 22. The event will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Come join in the fun and games.
October 23 Masonic Lodge Open House
The local Masonic Lodges will hold open houses on Sunday, Oct. 23 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. If you have any questions or are interested in Masonry, the following lodges will be open: Iron Bluff #1376 in Lone Star, Oasis # 79 in Daingerfield, Hughes Springs Lodge #691 in Hughes Springs, Hickory Hill Lodge #156 in Avinger, and David Elliot #364 in Omaha.
October 24-28 Fall Revival
New Hope Baptist Church, along with their pastor, Rev. D.A. Hill, invite you to their Fall Revival, to be held Oct. 24-28, at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The Rev. Gary Walker, pastor at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Tyler, will be the evangelist for the week.
October 27 NTCC Culinary Arts Dinner
The Northeast Texas Community College Culinary Arts Program will host a special Thursday Night Dinner on Oct. 27. The dinner will be held at the NTCC Culinary School in historic downtown Pittsburg and is open to the public. Tickets go on sale Monday, Oct. 3rd. Tickets can be obtained only at the NTCC Hanson- Sewell Center at 237 College Street in Pittsburg. Cash and checks are accepted for payment. Please call 903- 434-8393 for more details. The cost is $12 per person and each diner must have a ticket to be admitted to the event. Seating will be from 6:00-6:30 p.m.
October 29 Trunk or Treat
