October 20 Soup and Salad Lunch

The Twentieth Century Club will be hosting their annual Soup and Salad Lunch Thursday, Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Daingerfield’s First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

October 21 Chili Supper

The Hughes Springs Masonic Lodge #671 will be serving chili before the Hughes Springs Homecoming game on Oct. 21, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person, and proceeds will benefit local HSISD scholarships and other Masonic Charities. The dinner will be at next to the Cafeteria at Mustang Stadium.

October 22 Fall Festival

Veal Switch Baptist Church in Hughes Springs invites everyone to their Fall Festival on Oct. 22. The event will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Come join in the fun and games.

October 23 Family and Friends Day

Wallick Chapel Christian Church invites everyone to their Family and Friends Day on Oct. 23 at 3 p.m. Guest Speaker will be Bro. Kenneth Fredricks, from Shady Grove Christian Church in Cason.

October 23 Mason Lodge Open House

The local Masonic Lodges will hold open houses on Sunday, Oct. 23 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. If you have any questions are interested in Masonry, the following lodges will be open: Iron Bluff #1376 in Lone Star, Oasis # 79 in Daingerfield, Hughes Springs Lodge #691 in Hughes Springs, Hickory Hill Lodge #156 in Avinger, and David Elliot #364 in Omaha.

October 24-28 Fall Revival

New Hope Baptist Church, along with their pastor, Rev. D.A. Hill, invite you to their Fall Revival, to be held Oct. 24-28, at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The Rev. Gary Walker, pastor at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Tyler, will be the evangelist for the week.

October 25 American Legion Monthly Meeting

The Morris County American Legion Post 92 Naples will hold their regular monthly meeting on Oct. 25 at Daingerfield’s First Baptist Church Educational Building. They invite all Veterans in the Daingerfield area to come and learn more of what the American Legion is and what they can do for Veterans, the community, and youth. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

October 25 Preschool Story Time

Preschool story time continues at the Hughes Springs Area Public Library, and happens every Tuesday morning at 10:15 a.m. This FREE story time lasts about 45 minutes, and is open to all preschoolers age 3 and older.

October 27 NTCC Culinary Arts Dinner

The Northeast Texas Community College Culinary Arts Program will host a special Thursday Night Dinner on October 27. The dinner will be held at the NTCC Culinary School in historic downtown Pittsburg and is open to the public. Tickets go on sale Monday, Oct. 3rd. Tickets can be obtained only at the NTCC Hanson-Sewell Center at 237 College Street in Pittsburg. Cash and checks are accepted for payment. Please call 903-434-8393 for more details. The cost is $12 per person and each diner must have a ticket to be admitted to the event. Seating will be from 6:00-6:30 p.m.

October 28 Lion’s Club Chili Supper

The Daingerfield-Hughes Springs Lions Club and P.E.O. will serve a Chili Supper from 5-7 pm at South Elementary School on Friday, October 28 before the Football game. Tickets are available from Lions Club and P.E.O. members and also at the door. Carry outs will be available. Proceeds will be used to award local scholarships.

October 29 Trunk or Treat

Community churches are hosting a trunk or treat on Oct. 29 at the Daingerfield City Park. The times will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. All area churches and business are invited to participate. November 5 Senior Citizens Bingo

There will be bingo for Senior Citizens at the Senior Citizens Center in Daingerfield on Nov. 5, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

November 5 Turkey Bingo

Avinger Chamber sponsors Turkey Bingo at #7 Main Street, 2:00-4:00 p.m. Prizes include cash prizes, gift cards, and whole turkeys. Come early, limited seating.
