Services for Kathryn Callaway, were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial followed at Hughes Springs cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.
Kathryn Willeford Callaway of Hughes Springs went to be with our heavenly Father on Saturday, Nov. 5. Kathryn was born in Hughes Springs on Nov. 10, 1920 to Mary Jon and Morris Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Callaway; parents; one daughter, Gale Avon Wesberry; grandsons, Mark Avon Wesberry and Mike Wesberry; granddaughter, Marcey Gale Wesberry Robertson of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Betty Delia; and brother, Morris Parker.
She is survived by her two sons of Hughes Springs, Glen and wife, Joan Willeford, Gary and wife, Linda Willeford; grandchildren, Ty and wife, Rachel Willeford of Lafayette, GA, Amy and husband, DeWitt Bryan of Ft. Worth, Misty Wesberry of Ft. Worth; great grandchildren, Ty and Eli Bryan, Sarah, Anna, and Leah Willeford, Brandon Nunez, Casey Cameron, Dovie Vaughan, Amanda Wesberry, Brittany Wesberry; three nephews Roger and wife, Lynn Parker of Houston, Gil Parker of Houston, and Steve and wife, Phyllis Delia of Deridder, LA.
Kathryn served as executive Vice President of Garland Federal Savings and Loan, also she was a past president of the North Texas American Savings and Loan Association. As a member of the Garland Soroptimist Club, she was one of the founders of the Galaxy Home for Girls, an organization to improve lives of less fortunate women and girls. She started an agriculture scholarship at Northeast Texas Community College to help further educations in the field of agriculture. Upon retiring from the corporate world she and her husband retired to Hughes Springs and founded an Herb and Wildflower farm, they named it “Holly Hill.” Herbs were her passion and she spent much time giving lectures pertaining to herbs, she was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church of Hughes Springs.
Kathryn will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.
