Services for Coleman “Blue Eyes” Gene Hall were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22 at the First Baptist Church in Avinger. Burial followed at Pyland Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mr. Coleman was born March 6, 1937.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Hickory Hill 156 for 50-plus years, had his Scottish Right 32nd Degree, served as a deacon for the First Baptist Church in Avinger, retired from Lone Star Steel after 43 years, was an avid gardener, loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn and Mary Hall; infant brother; mother and father-in law, Armond and Ruth Johnsons; and five brothers-in-law.
He is survived by his wife of 60-plus years, Wanda Hall; three sons, Jeff Hall and wife Teonna, Van Hall and wife Donna, and Don Hall and wife Pam; sister, Margie McDaniels and husband Richard; sistersin- law Jean Girner and Margaret Harris; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
